Academic Tutoring:
Soma tutors help you develop effective note-taking techniques,
time management skills, study skills, and test-taking strategies.
All Soma tutoring is free of charge.
Podcasting comes to Soma
Soma's tradition of innovation and excellence in clinical massage
therapy education got a big boost with the introduction of podcasting.
This spring students will be able to download their clinical science
lectures onto their brand-new iPod Nanos.
Podcasting, the New Oxford American Dictionary 2005 Word of the
Year, involves the digital recording of Soma lectures that will
be made available on the Internet for downloading to a personal
iPod. The downloaded lecture "episodes" can then be played, replayed,
or archived.
Soma President, Joan Hannant, says that "podcasting will revolutionize
the way our students will learn and retain the clinical science
information that is the foundation of our renowned program. We are
very proud of this exciting new innovation." New students will receive
a new iPod Nano as part of their tuition and materials package.
Counseling Referral Services:
Professional counseling is available to help you achieve your
educational objectives, and to assist in resolving any personal
problems that may interfere with your academic success. This counseling
is available by appointment and is free of charge.
Free Lifetime Massage Treatments:
All students and graduates are entitled to unlimited, complimentary
massage treatments in the on-campus Teaching Clinic.
Career Support Services:
The Soma Institute, through its Practice Management course, offers
a comprehensive career-planning program designed to help you successfully
reach your career goals by enabling you to:

- Develop effective job-search methods
